Refreshing Fruit Infused Water (3 Ways)

Hot weather is a constant here in Houston, Texas. Our summer essentially lasts from April to September, with the peak of the season topping 100 degrees for days or even weeks at a time. I don’t know if I’ll ever quite get used to the heat and humidity here on the Golf Coast!

During the hot season, adequate hydration is SO important. Dehydration can cause a whole host of health issues— in fact, on days when I feel like I’m dragging, I usually realize that I haven’t drank enough water.

This summer we got into the habit of making fruit infused water to make sure we remember to drink enough. We already love water, but there’s something about these vibrant and tasty recipes that makes it even more enticing and refreshing!

We nicknamed our fruit infused water recipes “Vitamin Water,” because they are infused with a variety of vitamin rich fruit and vegetables — I’ve actually included our three favorite recipes here soyou’re sure to find somethingyour taste buds love.

You might have seen recipes for detox water, spa water, etc. on the web and Pinterest— this is essentially the same thing with our own nickname. As you’ll see from some of the potential health benefits I’ve listed below, vitamin water may indeed have some detoxing properties.

This is also a fun recipe that the kids can help make. My girls love choosing their own fruit and veggie mixtures to add to the pitchers. Your kids might also like to create their own special blends!
